Waiting For Pee-Wit!: Alnwick, Northumberland 13/06/15

As a classroom teacher of Year 4 students our class had been called Lapwings, named after the plover.  Walking near the heritage railway where I volunteer, I had encountered a pair of these beautiful birds in the fields and on the spoil heaps close by.  Each time they had flown away before I could  get close enough to photograph them.  This afternoon I set myself the challenge to capture an image of this beautiful bird.  It took a while but..... Yay me! ;0)
